Welcome to The Community Clothesline!

The Community Clothesline is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization that distributes new and used clothing, shoes, and household textiles free of charge to individuals, families, schools and service organizations.

Think of us as a distribution hub, not a store!

We Pick up and Deliver

You don't come to us, we come to you! Unlike community clothing shelves, we do not have a store. We do not have a drop box  for donations. Our location in Bergen, New York serves as a workshop, warehouse and administrative office for our not-for-profit operations.

EVERYONE is welcome to place orders. Clothing orders are placed by phone (585-331-6784) or website (Contact Us page) and delivered directly to individuals, counselors and case managers. All of our clothing is carefully screened and distributed free of charge. We make every effort to meet individual needs and requests.

The Community Clothesline arranges pop-up events with partnering organizations. These "pop-ups" provide free shopping opportunities open to the public.

To donate clothing, shoes, and household textiles, just contact us to arrange a pick-up.

UPCOMING POP-UPS

You can always call to place an order, but Pop-Ups provide an opportunity to shop for yourself!

OUR MISSION

The Community Clothesline  reclaims, repurposes and recycles pre- and post- consumer clothing items with dignity and respect for our donors, our clients and the environment. We sort, inventory and distribute donated clothing to not-for-profit organizations free of charge; unusable items are passed along to textile recyclers to reduce the amount from our community that goes in landfills.
